1. Project Overview

•Project Background:
This project is located in Guangdong Province, where Antaisolar provided a complete fixed mounting system for an 80MW large-scale ground-mounted PV power plant. The project innovatively integrates clean energy generation with large-scale duck farming, successfully implementing a “PV + aquaculture” model. It achieves a dual-use scenario of “green power generation above and ecological farming below,” offering a replicable and sustainable solution for industrial integration and rural revitalization in coastal regions.

•Project Requirements: Situated in a coastal area, the project required a solution capable of balancing power generation efficiency with large-scale farming needs, while ensuring long-term stable operation under hot, humid, and typhoon-prone conditions. Specifically, the mounting system needed to: (1) Provide sufficient clearance and optimized array layout to create a well-ventilated, shaded, and spacious environment for duck farming; (2) Deliver excellent wind resistance and structural stability to withstand frequent typhoons; (3) Utilize highly durable materials and anti-corrosion treatments suitable for subtropical climates.
2. Challenges

2.1 Balancing Farming Space and Power Generation Efficiency

•The system design needed to ensure optimal tilt angle and energy yield while simultaneously providing adequate space, ventilation, and lighting conditions for duck farming. This required precise coordination of mounting height, array spacing, and tilt angle.

2.2 Structural Safety Under Coastal Typhoon Conditions
•Frequent typhoons demand extremely high wind resistance. The mounting system had to ensure structural integrity and module safety under extreme wind loads, placing stringent requirements on connection reliability and overall stiffness.

2.3 Long-Term Durability in Hot and Humid Environments
•High temperature, humidity, and rainfall accelerate material corrosion, requiring long-lasting anti-corrosion performance to ensure a design life exceeding 25 years.

3. Solution
Antaisolar delivered a customized solution centered on a high-strength fixed mounting system tailored to coastal conditions and the “PV + aquaculture” model.

3.1 Optimized Height and Tilt for Farming Synergy
•The system adopts an optimal tilt angle of 16°, maximizing solar energy capture while ensuring structural stability.
•The minimum clearance is set at 2.5 meters, providing excellent ventilation and heat dissipation for modules while creating a spacious, shaded, and comfortable environment for duck farming, achieving true synergy between energy generation and aquaculture.

3.2 Reinforced Structure for Wind Resistance
•The structure adopts a combination of welded columns and single clamps, ensuring high structural strength and integrity.
•The design is based on local 50-year return period wind load parameters, ensuring full structural safety from columns to connections.

3.3 Enhanced Anti-Corrosion and Reliable Fixation
•All steel components are treated with hot-dip galvanization plus high-performance coatings, ensuring over 25 years of corrosion resistance in C3 environments.
•Modules are secured using a rear-bolted mounting method, where fasteners are protected from direct exposure to wind and rain, improving durability. This rigid fixation also minimizes micro-movements caused by wind-induced vibrations, ensuring long-term system stability.

4. Results

•Successful Implementation with Dual Benefits:
The 80MW PV plant has been successfully grid-connected. The mounting system enabled a well-integrated “power generation + farming” model, providing an ideal environment for duck breeding.

•Significant Economic and Environmental Value: The project delivers substantial clean electricity annually, reducing carbon emissions while increasing land-use efficiency through a dual-purpose model. It also generates additional income streams, supporting rural revitalization and industrial integration. The project demonstrates the feasibility of large-scale “PV + livestock” applications in typhoon-prone coastal areas. Its proven approach—combining optimized structural design with ecological integration—serves as a valuable reference for similar developments in South China and beyond.
